SkyWatch's Sports mode displays league, team, and conference logos alongside live scores, standings, and game state so fans can identify what they're looking at at a glance. This page explains why those marks appear on the device, how we use them, and how to request removal.
Legal foundation
Under United States trademark law, a registered mark may be displayed by a party that does not own it where the use is nominative or otherwise constitutes fair use — that is, when the mark is used to accurately identify the trademark holder's own product, team, or event, in a context that does not suggest sponsorship or endorsement by the mark's owner.
SkyWatch's Sports mode is an informational, editorial display: it reports publicly available scores, schedules, standings, and game state, and identifies the teams playing using each team's recognized name and logo. We display these marks for the same reason a newspaper sports page or a TV news ticker does — so the viewer immediately knows which team is which.
Why SkyWatch displays logos
Team and league logos appear in Sports mode to help fans:
- Identify which two teams are playing in a live game readout.
- Recognize standings, fixtures, and final scores across the NFL, NBA, and MLB at a glance.
- Star a favorite team and filter the carousel to only games in progress.
- Distinguish division, conference, and league context (e.g. AFC vs. NFC, AL vs. NL).
Without the corresponding marks, the readouts would be functionally unusable — a scoreboard that just said "Team A 21, Team B 17" defeats the purpose of an at-a-glance display.

All league, conference, and club names and logos are the registered trademarks (or otherwise protected marks) of their respective owners. Requesting removal of a logo
If you are a rights holder — a league, club, broadcaster, or authorized representative — and you would like a name, logo, or other mark removed from the SkyWatch Sports mode database, please contact us at:
Please include the specific mark in question, the entity you represent, and proof of your authority to act on behalf of the mark's owner. We process verified removal requests on a rolling basis and will confirm by email once the mark has been removed from the next SkyWatch firmware/data release.
Our reservation of rights
SkyWatch reserves the right to remove, replace, or recolor any mark displayed by SkyWatch in Sports mode at any time, for any reason, including at the request of the mark's owner. Display of a mark by SkyWatch does not imply that the mark's owner sponsors, endorses, licenses, or is otherwise affiliated with SkyWatch.
Game data — scores, standings, schedules, and play-by-play state — is sourced from third-party data providers and public reporting. SkyWatch provides this data on an "as-is" basis for general informational purposes and does not warrant its accuracy, completeness, or fitness for wagering or other commercial use.
